As part of a series of activities relating to HD--New Media, an HD post production workshop was organized in late October to provide members with a hands-on experience with HD non-linear editing. The source material was the HD tape that the local section produced during the HD cinematography workshop staged last year with the participation of members of the Hong Kong Society of Cinematographers and cameramen from major television stations. The HD post production workshop had the support of members of the Hong Kong Society of Editors. Cinedigit, a local post production house, in collaboration with Pictures Planes, an agent of Avid, provided HD editing facilities for participants to carry out the exercise. Under the supervision of Hugo Kwan, a seasoned editor, the group prepared a four-minute HD material for a presentation at the upcoming forum on HD post production.
